Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the Gulf Oil Spill, will you Stand With the Gulf?
With rising tides, declining ecosystems, and more pollution than ever, it is time we stand up to dirty energy and start Cleaning Up the Dirty South! We need to tell big polluters that we will no longer accept their fossil fuel future. We need to tell our elected officials to stand up for what WE want. We need to fight for a just, clean energy future.
Just 2 short months ago, a group of students from Mississippi (Mississippi Alumni and Students for Sustainability) were reflecting on how we could come together as a state and show our support for the people and environment still affected by the BP Gulf Oil Spill. Thus, Oil Spill: Black Out was born. Now we have students from across the southeast who have signed their campuses up to host a Black Out event and stand in solidarity with the Gulf.
